Website forms

Pick a form on your website, send a test submission, and turn on form tracking in NMC.

NMC only tracks the specific website forms you test and enable. Installing the website tracking script by itself does not automatically record every form on your site (such as search bars, sign-in forms, or newsletter sign-ups).

  1. Make sure the website tracking code is live on your site first.

  2. Open Tracking, choose Add tracking, and select Website forms.

  3. Enter a Page to test that has the form on your business website (or one of its subdomains). If the form opens inside a modal or popup, enter the page where visitors click to open it. Even if the same form appears on dozens of pages, you only need to test it on one page.

  4. Choose Test my form. In the new browser tab showing the NMC test mode banner, fill out and submit the form using sample contact details and a test message.

  5. Switch back to NMC and wait for Your test arrived, which previews the Name, Phone, Email, and other answers NMC will record from real submissions. If a contact field is missing or mapped unexpectedly, contact support.

  6. Enter a clear name (1 to 100 characters, defaulting to Contact form), such as “Request a quote.”

  7. Choose Track this form. NMC will now record matching submissions across your entire website.

Test mode submissions don’t create leads in your inbox or upload conversions to Google Ads. Because your website itself still processes the form normally (for example, emailing your office or triggering your CRM), use clean sample details when testing.

Setting up, testing, and enabling forms is always free, even before your plan starts or if your balance is at $0. Once enabled, live form submissions require an active plan and a balance above $0, and each live submission deducts from your balance.

NMC identifies a form by its HTML id and name attributes (when present) combined with the exact set of visible input names and types. Once enabled, NMC tracks that form automatically on every page of your website and subdomains:

  • Page URLs, surrounding page layout, field order, and typed answers don’t affect matching, so no custom HTML attributes or per-page setup are required.
  • Separate <form> elements on the same page stay independent and are never merged.
  • Conditional fields that your form disables (such as questions hidden until a visitor picks an option) still count toward identifying the form, though NMC doesn’t record values from disabled fields. Hidden inputs and CAPTCHA widgets are ignored.
  • Fields inside an element marked data-nmc-ignore are skipped: NMC doesn’t record them, and they don’t count toward identifying the form. A form marked data-nmc-ignore, or inside an element marked with it, is never recorded. See Keep parts of a page out of tracking.
  • Test page in your Website forms list simply notes where you ran the most recent test; it doesn’t restrict tracking to that single URL.

If you later add, remove, or rename a form field, or change the form’s HTML id or name, run a fresh test so NMC recognizes the updated structure.

If Your test arrived doesn’t appear:

  1. Make sure you submitted the form inside the browser tab displaying NMC test mode, allowed the tracking script past any cookie banner or ad blocker, and completed submission.
  2. If NMC reports that the test wasn’t accepted or the test session expired, choose Test again in NMC to open a fresh test tab (don’t reuse an older test tab URL).
  3. Forms embedded inside a third-party <iframe> (such as booking widgets from ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, or Jobber) run on another company’s domain where your website script cannot read them. Contact support if you use an embedded scheduler, or have your developer send entries via the server form submission API.
  • After editing a form or changing your website domain: Open the form in Website forms and choose Test form to update its signature. Simply placing an unchanged form onto new pages needs no retest.
  • Unfinished setups: Resume any form draft on Tracking by choosing Finish next to its name.
  • Stop tracking a form: Choose Remove on the form in Website forms. Past leads from that form remain in NMC. (Keep the website tracking script on your site if you still use website call tracking.)
