Google Contacts
Sync NMC contacts to Google Contacts so caller ID shows customer names on your phone.
Connect Google Contacts so your phone displays caller names when leads call back. NMC creates a dedicated contact group for your business inside the Google account you connect.
NMC syncs every contact who has a phone number and at least one lead that isn’t closed as Not a lead. When a contact doesn’t have a name yet, NMC uses their phone number as the display name in Google Contacts until a name is added.
Connect the right Google account
Section titled “Connect the right Google account”- Open Integrations → Google Contacts (requires account access).
- Sign in with the Google account whose address book syncs to the phones answering your calls.
- Confirm the connected email address shown in NMC.
- Wait a moment for the initial sync to finish, then check the business’s contact group in Google Contacts.
- Make sure Google Contacts sync is turned on in your phone’s account settings so caller names appear on incoming calls.
The contact group is named after your business. Because Google Contacts uses its own separate Google connection, double-check that you select the Google account on your phone rather than an agency manager email.
Updates and deletions
Section titled “Updates and deletions”NMC keeps synced contacts up to date automatically:
- If you edit a synced contact’s name inside Google Contacts, NMC brings that updated name back into NMC.
- NMC only reads and updates the contacts it created; it never imports the rest of your personal or company Google address book.
- If you delete a synced contact inside Google Contacts, NMC respects that choice and won’t recreate it.
- If all of a contact’s leads are later closed as Not a lead (or their phone number is removed), NMC removes that contact from Google Contacts.
Reconnecting or disconnecting
Section titled “Reconnecting or disconnecting”If NMC asks you to reconnect Google Contacts, sign back in with the same Google account. To switch to a different Google account instead, click Disconnect first and then connect the new account.
Disconnecting stops future updates while leaving previously synced contacts in Google Contacts. Delete the business’s contact group in Google Contacts if you no longer want those entries on your phone.
